Description

Silvia Hacherman, giovane e brillante direttrice di un laboratorio di chimica a Roma, vive tormentata da un trauma infantile: la morte della madre, che lei stessa potrebbe aver causato. Nonostante una vita apparentemente serena e una relazione stabile con il fidanzato Roberto, un episodio durante una cena — una discussione sul culto delle messe nere — riapre vecchie ferite nella sua mente.

Da quel momento, Silvia inizia a vivere esperienze sempre più disturbanti: visioni della madre, una misteriosa bambina che appare nel suo appartamento, e comportamenti ambigui da parte di amici e vicini. La realtà si confonde con l’allucinazione, e Silvia sprofonda lentamente nella follia.

Nel climax del film, Silvia si suicida gettandosi dal terrazzo insieme alla bambina. Ma la scena finale rivela l’orrore più grande: il suo corpo viene recuperato da una setta segreta — composta da amici, vicini e persino il fidanzato — che consuma i suoi organi in un rituale cannibalico. La teoria del professore africano sulle messe nere si rivela tragicamente vera.
